TWE Project showcased at Utah Governor's energy summit

Jan. 12, 2013 — TransWest Express LLC once again served as a conference sponsor and exhibitor at the second annual Governor's Energy Development Summit, held in Salt Lake City Jan. 10-11 and organized by Utah's Office of Energy Development.

More than 1,200 people attended the event, which included workshops and panel discussions on multiple subjects including renewable energy, transmission development in the West, federal land use in Utah and related energy matters. In addition to Utah Governor Gary R. Herbert, keynote presenters included Cody B. Stewart, Governor's Energy Advisor; James Ogsbury, executive director of the Western Governors' Association; and Utah's Congressional Delegation.

TransWest provided an array of information to attendees about its proposed TransWest Express Transmission Project, a 600kv, 3,000 MW direct current power line designed to facilitate the delivery of cost-effective renewable energy and to strengthen the overall Western U.S. power grid. The TWE Project is one of just seven transmission projects in the United States to be prioritized by the federal “Rapid Response Team for Transmission,” and the only one connecting through and providing benefits to Utah.
